A coating device includes a top stage for masking the top surface of a display panel (or display substrate), a bottom stage for masking the bottom surface of the display panel (or the display substrate), and a spray unit for spraying ink to the side of the display panel (or the display substrate) that is exposed between the top stage and the bottom stage. The coating device includes the top stage and the bottom stage so as to form a coating layer accurately only where the ink will be sprayed. Further, the cross section of the coating layer may be formed in a L or ��shape precisely. A display device with a reduced lightwell and improved light efficiency can be provided by using a light guide plate and the display panel manufactured by the coating device.
