PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing helically wound iron cores used for automotive alternator applications to increase electrical output and efficiency.SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing a helically wound alternator iron core, an electrical steel is stamped to create a steel strip having a back iron core and projecting teeth (100). The steel strip is bent and thereby helically wound to form the helically wound alternator iron core (200). The iron core is then welded (300). Thereafter, the helically wound welded alternator iron core is annealed (400). |
