PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generator comprising: an engine; and an electric power generation body driven by the engine and including an electromagnetic clutch mechanism or an electromagnetic brake mechanism arranged through their compact configuration.SOLUTION: A power generator comprises: an engine 100; a rotor 210 fixed to a crank shaft 130 of the engine; an axial-gap type electric power generation body 200 having stators 220, 230 fixed to a crank case 110 of the engine spaced apart in a direction of rotating shaft and oppositely arranged; and a clutch mechanism 300 arranged between the crank shaft of the engine and an output coupling 320 to which a driven device is connected. The clutch mechanism is an electromagnetic clutch for press contacting a pair of friction members 313, 330 under application of electromagnets 340. The electromagnets of the clutch mechanism and a plurality of coils C arranged at the stators are arranged in a peripheral direction of each of the stators. |
