The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device that includes: a display panel on one side; a display panel on the other side facing the display panel on one side; and a liquid crystal layer which is located between the display panel on one side and the dis play panel on the other side and includes liquid crystal molecules arranged vertically when an electric field is not applied. One pixel includes a first subpixel and a second subpixel. The first subpixel and the second subpixel include: a first electrode which is formed on a substrate on one side, included in the display panel on one side, and has a planar structure in one subpixel area; and a second electrode, which is formed in the first electrode, is overlapped by the first electrode, is insulated from the first electrode, and includes a linear electrode, and a third electrode, which is formed on the substrate on the other side, included in the panel on the other side, and has a planar structure. Voltages applied on the second electrode of the first subpixel are different from voltages applied on the second electrode of the second subpixel. |
