PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hardness tester capable of achieving high accuracy test force in response to lowering of the test force accompanied by heat generation of test force loading means.SOLUTION: A hardness tester includes test force loading means, temperature detection means, and test force correction means. The test force loading means (first and second force motors 62 and 72) generates test force by electromagnetic force caused by an electric current made to flow through a drive coil section disposed in a magnetic field to load an indenter 4 and pushes the indenter 4 into the surface of a sample S. The temperature detection means (temperature sensors 62c and 72c) detects temperature of the test force loading means. The test force correction means (CPU 201) corrects the test force generated by the test force loading means on the basis of the temperature detected by the temperature detection means. |
