PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing the occurrence of line scattering and line thinning, while suppressing the occurrence of unevenness in image density when continuously printing images with high image area ratio.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a toner density sensor 390 that detects toner density of a developer in a recovery agent storage chamber 311; and an engine control unit that adjusts optical writing intensity of an electrostatic latent image to a photoreceptor on the basis of a difference▵Vt between an output voltage of the toner density sensor 390 when two screw members (304 and 305) are driven at a normal rotation speed, and an output voltage of the toner density sensor 390 when the screw members are driven at a slower rotation speed. |
