PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record the X-ray doses administered to a patient and to retrieve the recorded information in an X-ray system.SOLUTION: An X-ray system includes an X-ray source generating an X-ray stream. The X-ray system also includes a processor in communication with the X-ray source and a user interface module. The user interface module is configured to generate a graphical user interface 54 to control the X-ray system. The graphical user interface includes a first window and a second window. The X-ray system further includes a touch screen 50 configured to display the graphical user interface. The touch screen is configured to generate an output in response to a swipe of the touch screen. The user interface module is configured to effect navigation between the first window and the second window in response to the swipe.
