PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device which is capable of decorating desired figures or the like, and hard to shorten lifetime due to the decoration.SOLUTION: When a substrate 2 is viewed in planar view, an organic EL device includes: a shape display region 29 which displays a predetermined shape during driving; and a light-emitting region 30 which emits light during driving. The light-emitting region 30 is continuously formed with the shape display region 29, and is formed to surround the shape display region 29. The organic EL device further includes a shape display groove 49 in which at least one of a first electrode layer 3 and a second electrode layer 6 is removed. The shape display groove 49 is formed on the boundary between the shape display region 29 and the light-emitting region 30 and continuous over the whole circumference of the light-emitting region 30. |
