PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping valve free from excessive increase of damping force in soft even when a damping force variable width is increased, and further free from shortage of damping force in hard.SOLUTION: A damping valve V includes: a valve seat member 1 including a port 1a; a valve element 3 for opening and closing the port 1a; a cylindrical spool 30 kept into contact with an anti-valve seat member side of the valve element 3; a spool holding member 20 on which the spool 30 is axially movably mounted at its outer periphery; and a back pressure chamber P defined by the spool 30 and the spool holding member 20, and biasing the spool 30 so that the valve element 3 is pressed to a valve seat member side by an internal pressure. A ring 29 slid and kept into contact with an inner periphery of the spool 30, is disposed on an outer periphery of the spool holding member 20, and a pressure in the back pressure chamber P is applied to an inner peripheral side of the ring. |
