The present invention relates to an epoxy resin including diglycidyl ether represented by the formula 1 and a weight-increasing epoxy resin including the reaction product of bifunctional compound selected at least one among aromatic diol or dicarboxylic acid. The diglycidyl ether has an alicyclic ring of 3-5 carbon atoms. Purified diglycidyl ether is used for obtaining an effectively straight high molecular weight-increasing epoxy resin. Also, the weight-increasing epoxy resin is included in curable compositions, cured compositions and articles which are explained. The epoxy resin provides a cured coating having lower content of total chlorine and having increased flexibility.
