摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-coated cutting tool excellent in abnormal damage resistance, and the tool base body of which is a composite sintered body made of TiCN group cermet and WC group hard metal.SOLUTION: There is provided a surface-coated cutting tool formed by coating a tool base body made of a composite sintered body of TiCN group cermet and WC group hear metal with a hard coating layer in which: (a) a rake face is formed on the surface of the cermet by a blade tip material made of hard metal, and an enrichment layer of iron group metal is formed on the surface of the blade tip material made of hard metal; (b) at an interface part of the hard metal and the hard coating layer on the rake face in the vicinity of the blade tip, a content of the iron group metal component of the hard metal in the vicinity of the interface is 1.2-3.0 times the content of the iron group metal component inside the hard metal; (c) at the interface part of the cermet and the hard metal, a concentration gradient where the content of the iron group metal gradually decreases from the cermet side to the interface is formed, and the content of the iron group metal component of cermet in the vicinity of the interface is 0.1-0.7 times the content of the iron group metal component inside the hard metal.
