An improved roll surface coating apparatus and an improved roll surface coating method are disclosed. The roll surface coating apparatus according to the embodiment of the present invention comprises: a spray nozzle which is arranged to be separated form a roll being horizontally arranged and be parallel to the roll, and sprays a coating agent on the surface of the roll in a spray method; a first line type movement member which moves the spray nozzle in a horizontal direction; a rotation member which rotates a rotation shaft of the roll; a first thickness measurement device which is supplied to the front based on the direction of the movement of the spray nozzle and obtains a first scan value by scanning the surface; a second line type movement member which moves the first thickness measurement device in the horizontal direction; a second thickness measurement device which is supplied to the rear based on the direction of the movement of the spray nozzle and obtains a second scan value by scanning a coating thin film formed and sprayed on the surface; a controller which is connected to the first thickness measurement device and second thickness measurement device with a wire or without the wire, and determines the thickness and uniformity of the coating thin film by comparing the first scan value and second scan value supplied from the first thickness measurement device and second thickness measurement device respectively. |
