PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent, in a fixing device that directly heats a fixing member with an internal heat source, a rapid increase in temperature of the fixing member to prevent deformation of the fixing member due to heat stress and abnormal image resulting from the deformation.SOLUTION: A fixing device includes: an endless fixing member 101 that has a heat source 105 inside and is rotatably supported, and is heated at a heating target portion H opposite to the heat source; and a pressure roller 150 that is brought into contact with an outer peripheral surface of the fixing member excluding the heating target portion to form a nip part N. The fixing device further includes forced convection means 160 for depriving the heating target portion of heat by forced convection, when the rotation speed of the fixing member is decreased lower than a normal rotation speed, and thermal energy applied per unit time from the heat source to the heating target portion exceeds a predetermined value. |
