DETACHER FOR A SECURITY DEVICE A first aspect of the invention provides a detacher (40) for a security device (2) having a locking mechanism (10). The detacher comprises means for unlocking the locking mechanism, a motor coupled with the means and a housing (30). The housing, in turn, comprises a nest, the means and motor disposed in the housing, the motor to cause movement of the means with respect to the nest. The locking mechanism is magnetically actuable and the means comprises a magnet (12). The detacher further comprises an antenna for a security tag (20), the antenna being disposed in the housing. The security tag antenna is an RPID tag antenna.
