PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmentally friendly and easy method for producing an oxide.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing an oxide which comprises the steps of: preparing an organic compound having a sulfide bond or a phosphine bond as a substrate compound; and oxidizing the substrate compound by reacting the substrate compound in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst in a form in which a platinum group element is supported on a carrier, an organic acid, an oxygen source and a hydrogen source. In one preferred embodiment, a halogenated organic acid (more preferably a fluorinated organic acid, for example, trifluoroacetic acid) is used as the organic acid. In addition, in the other preferred embodiment, the oxidation is carried out under the condition of ordinary temperature and ordinary pressure. |
