TELECOMMUNICATIONS JACK AND METHOD OF USE

The invention relates to a telecommunications jack receiving a male connector, including a casing defining a socket for receiving the male connector, and a first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth contact spring which are consecutively arranged and used to make electrical contact with the male connector when said male connector is inserted into the socket of the casing along a first axis. The jack includes a first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth wire termination contact for terminating the wires in the jack, and a circuit board adaptation including a first and a second circuit, the circuit board adaptation including a circuit board movable between a first and a second position, in a direction which is not parallel to the first axis. In the first position, the circuit board electrically connects the contact springs to the wire termination contacts in a first configuration, and in the second position, the circuit board connects the contact springs to the wire termination contacts in a second configuration.
