PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a nonaqueous electrolyte achieving a nonaqueous secondary battery having both durability and voltage withstanding performance; and a lithium secondary battery including the nonaqueous electrolyte.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte includes: 4-Fluoro-1,3-dioxolan-2-one; 0.0001 pt.mass or more and 10 pts.mass or less of a cyclic carbonate compound having two or more fluorine atoms relative to 100 pts. mass of the 4-Fluoro-1,3-dioxolan-2-one; a lithium salt; and polyalcohol having two or more hydroxyl groups and a carbon number of 4 or more.
