PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide core shell particles capable of enhancing photoelectric conversion efficiency by efficiently collecting carriers, generated by absorbing energy smaller than the bandgap energy of a photoelectric conversion layer, in addition to light having energy equal to or larger than the bandgap energy of a photoelectric conversion layer, in an electrode, and to provide a photoelectric conversion layer and a photoelectric conversion element.SOLUTION: A core shell particle includes a semiconductor core and a semiconductor shell provided on the surface of the semiconductor core, and the semiconductor core contains a semiconductor and impurities for forming an intermediate band in the bandgap of the semiconductor. A photoelectric conversion layer, and a photoelectric conversion element manufactured by using the same are also provided. |
