PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the maximum measurable range of a distance sensor 1 without increasing circuit scale.SOLUTION: A capacitor C1 accumulates negative charges transferred from a photodiode 30 upon reception of light by the photodiode 30 during a divided period t1. A capacitor C2 accumulates negative charges transferred from the photodiode 30 upon reception of light by the photodiode 30 during a divided period t3. A capacitor C3 accumulates negative charges transferred from the photodiode 30 upon reception of light by the photodiode 30 during a divided period t5. A capacitor C4 accumulates negative charges transferred from the photodiode 30 upon reception of light by the photodiode 30 during a divided period t7. A distance computation circuit 15 computes a distance d between the distance sensor 1 and a detection target 20 on the basis of the amount of negative charges accumulated in each of the capacitors C1, C2, C3, and C4. |
