PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device attaining energy saving by almost balancing the mass of a cage side and the mass of a counterweight side in operation.SOLUTION: The elevator device includes: a hard ball adjusting the mass of a cage 7 and a counterweight 8; a cage storage part 14a and a counter weight storage part 14b having a receiving port and a discharging port for the hard ball; an upper weight adjustment part 15a having the receiving port 151a and a discharge port 152a for the hard ball at the upper part of an elevation passage 2 through which the cage 7 and the counterweight 8 go up and down; and a lower part weight adjustment part 15b having a receiving port 151b and a discharge port 152b for the hard ball at the lower part of the elevation passage 2. The elevator device performs over balance adjustment between the cage 7 and the counterweight 8.
