SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LAUNCHING AN APPLICATION PROGRAM UPON ASSOCIATION OF A MOBILE COMPUTING DEVICE WITH A LOCAL AREA NETWORK

A system and method for launching an application program stored in a memory of a mobile computing device when the mobile device is associated with a local area network (LAN) is provided. The method may be programmed for execution in a computing environment, wherein the method comprises: providing a local area network; allowing the mobile computing device to associate with the local area network; providing a web page for display on the mobile computing device including terms and conditions of use of the local area network; allowing for the acceptance of the displayed terms and conditions of use of the local area network using the mobile computing device; providing for the detection of the application program in the memory of the mobile computing device; and if the application program is detected in the memory of the mobile computing device, launching the application program on the mobile computing device.

1. A system for launching an application program stored in a memory of a mobile computing device, the system comprising:
a local area network device configured for receiving a request to join a network from the mobile computing device and selectively allowing the mobile computing device access to the network; a memory; a user agreement module stored in the memory, wherein when the local area network device receives the request to join the network, the user agreement module is configured for displaying terms and conditions of use on the mobile computing device and providing the ability for the mobile computing device to accept the displayed terms and conditions; a detection module stored in the memory, wherein when the terms and conditions are accepted, the detection module is configured for determining if the application program is stored in the memory of the mobile computing device; and a launch module stored in the memory, wherein when the detection module determines that the application program is stored in the memory of the mobile computing device, the launch module is configured for launching the application program on the mobile computing device.
