Provided is an electronic device that offers improved user convenience in terms of preventing the user from accidentally leaving an article somewhere or taking the wrong article. Said electronic device is provided with the following: a communication unit (51, 62) that uses either intra-body communication through a user or near-field communication to communicate with a first device (60A, 60B, 50C); a detection unit (53, 63) that detects when communication between the aforementioned communication unit and the first device should be established; and a notification unit (59, 66) that, when the detection unit has detected that the aforementioned communication should be established, provides a notification pertaining to the first device on the basis of the communication state between the abovementioned communication unit and the first device.
