1. A method of sorting sperm comprising the steps of:
flowing sperm through a plurality of flow channels in a microfluidic chip; orienting sperm within the plurality of flow channels; flowing the oriented sperm through an inspection region in the flow channels; interrogating sperm at the at least one inspection region to determine sperm characteristics; differentiating oriented sperm from unoriented sperm in the flow channels; selecting a subpopulation of oriented sperm based on the detected sperm characteristics; and collecting the selected subpopulation of sperm in a collection vessel. |
