a failover policy, wherein the failover policy includes an executable failover script, a failover attribute, and a predetermined initial failover domain;a cluster application that, when executed by the processor, manages a plurality of client computing devices operating in a multi-client network environment, wherein the multi-client network environment includes a plurality of servers;a high availability application that, when executed by the processor, manages a plurality of group and cluster membership services associated with the client computing devices; anda high availability base application that, when executed by the processor, monitors a plurality of client-related processes executed by the processor and prevents unscheduled downtime in the multi-client network environment by initiating a failover in accordance with the failover policy when a failover event is detected.
