A low-complexity motion estimation method and system are provided to perform the motion estimation of images having difference properties with relatively small memory and calculation, thereby being realized in a mobile device on a real time basis in low-power and low-complexity. An image acquisition unit(110) obtains two images as a first image and a second image. A mapping table generating unit(160) produces a mapping table by using the intensity of the second image and the first image. A projection data generating unit(170) produces projection data by using the generated mapping table. A motion detection unit(190) detects the motion of the two images by using the generated projection data. |
