BONE GRAFT IMPLANTS CONTAINING ALLOGRAFT

Synthetic, bioactive ultra-porous bone graft materials having an engineered porosity, and implants formed from such materials are provided. In particular, these implants comprise bioactive glass and incorporate allograft material for osteoinduction. The implants are suitable for bone tissue regeneration and/or repair.

1. A porous, composite bone graft implant comprising:
a first component comprising a bioactive glass; and a second component comprising an allograft material; each of the components having a different resorption capacity than the other component; wherein the composite implant comprises a pore size distribution including pores characterized by pore diameters ranging from about 100 nanometer to about 1 millimeter.
