PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a graphite material including a filling step capable, by curtailing the occurrence of the local deposition of a raw ingredient powder filled into a molding container or the generation of gaps owing to the mobilization of the powder, of preventing local anisotropy and the generation of a density difference and unlikely to entail cracking.SOLUTION: The provided method for manufacturing a graphite material is a method for manufacturing a graphite material comprising: a filling step of charging, into a molding container, a raw ingredient powder obtained by pulverized an admixture of coke and pitch; a molding step of obtaining a molding by impressing a hydrostatic pressure onto the molding container; a firing step of obtaining a fired product by firing the molding, and a graphitizing step of obtaining a graphite material by graphitizing the fired product. The charging step is executed by a charging device for inserting a tube-shaped charging cylinder having a feeder for feeding the raw ingredient powder and a barrier member for temporarily retaining the raw ingredient powder into the molding container, and charging the raw ingredient powder therein. |
