A server issues an access request for accessing any of the multiple virtual volumes arranged in multiple storage devices, and measures the latency in the access paths connecting the storage devices and the server. Multiple control units are arranged respectively in the multiple storage devices and control the inputting/outputting of data, and among the control units a main control unit, which controls the migration of a migration source virtual volume, selects one storage device as the migration destination storage device, and arranges the migration destination virtual volume in the migration destination storage device, with the selected storage device being connected to an access path for which a second measurement value is obtained, said second measurement value indicating the latency in the access paths connecting the server and the storage devices other than the migration source storage device and being less than a first measurement value indicating the latency in the access path connecting the server and the migration source storage device in which the migration source virtual volume exists. |
