The invention relates to a device and a method for connecting and reliably separating a voltage terminal (U2) of a drive inverter (3) for an electric machine (2) to or from a supply voltage (U1), comprising a connection and interruption circuit (20) with two switching branches (21, 22) connected between the supply voltage (U1) or the supply voltage terminal (19) and the voltage terminal (U2) of the drive inverter (3) and comprising a control and/or regulating device (6) which is programmed and/or the circuitry of which is designed to connect the supply voltage (U1) to the voltage terminal (U2) of the drive inverter (3) via the switching branches (21, 22) and to deactivate one of the switching branches (21, 22) in a first test mode and to read a sensor signal (SE1, SE2) from said switching branch (21, 22) while the other switching branch (22, 21) is activated and conducts the supply voltage (U1) to the voltage terminal (U2) of the drive inverter (3). |
