PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-pressure discharge lamp for use as an automobile headlamp, capable of reducing an assembling space without the need of providing a shortened burner.SOLUTION: A lamp includes: a burner for emitting light; a metal holder connected to the burner, for supporting the burner; and a socket comprising a socket component made from a heat resistant plastic material. The metal holder has alignment legs protruding partially in a direction close to a base. The alignment legs are configured to align the burner with respect to the holder before the burner is connected to the alignment legs. The alignment legs protrude, not towards the tip of the burner, but towards the socket, so that the burner may be partially arranged in the socket or a holder cap. |
