PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium having an excellent surfacing property of a head, excellent in-plane uniformity of a pattern, and small variation in size.SOLUTION: A magnetic recording medium includes a base, a magnetic recording layer made of a plurality of convex magnetic layers formed on the base, and a protective film formed on the magnetic recording layer. There is a void in an area surrounded by the protective film, the base surface, and a wall of each magnetic layer. |
