PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To commonly use a driving source for driving a developing roller as another driving source.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a first developing roller carrying a first color developer, a second developing roller carrying a second color developer, a first transmission mechanism (color-side transmission mechanism 310) for transmitting a driving force from the driving source to the first developing roller, a second transmission mechanism (monochrome-side transmission mechanism 320) for transmitting the driving force from the driving source to the second developing roller, and a driving switching mechanism 200 arranged between the driving source and the first transmission mechanism and between the driving source and the second transmission mechanism. The driving switching mechanism 200 includes a gear for switching 210 being movable in the direction of the rotation axis of the first developing roller between a first position where the driving force from the driving source can be transmitted to both of the first transmission mechanism and the second transmission mechanism and a second position where the transmission of the driving force from the driving source to the first transmission mechanism is inhibited and the driving force of the driving source is transmitted to the second transmission mechanism. |
