PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader capable of accurately reading an image with a simpler constitution and a paper sheet processing device.SOLUTION: The image reader for reading an image on a paper sheet conveyed by a conveyance part includes: a light emission part for emitting visible light to the paper sheet; a light reception part for receiving light from the paper sheet passing through a read range formed in a line shape in a direction orthogonal to the paper sheet conveyance direction and acquiring a paper sheet image; a displacement detection part with multiple displacement meters each of which detects a displacement of the paper sheet passing through multiple detection positions aligned in a line shape in a direction orthogonal to the paper conveyance direction which are different from the read range for complementing the displacement among each detection positions; and an image correction part for correcting the paper sheet image on the basis of the displacement of the paper sheet.
