<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To urge a user to remove a hindrance factor when supposedly there is a hindrance to radio communication due to a metal object near an own device.SOLUTION: A portable terminal device has measurement means, start means, notification means and setting means. The measurement means transmits carrier waves and measures a voltage or current of the carrier waves to obtain a measured value. The start means starts reading data when the measured value is between a first threshold and a second threshold which is smaller than the first threshold. The notification means notifies that data reading shall not be performed when the measured value is not less than the first threshold and not greater than the second threshold. The setting means sets the first and second thresholds prior to measurement by the measurement means. The first threshold is a value for determining that there is no memory medium in the vicinity when the measured value is not less than this threshold. The second threshold is a value for determining that there is a decrease of the voltage or current and it is not suitable for data reading when the measured value is not greater than this threshold.</p> |
