Firearm Trigger Reset Assist Apparatus and Method

Pump-action and semi-automatic firearms are well known in the art. Common to all of these types of firearms is their dependency on a user's ability to continually pull the trigger in a rapid manner when a high rate of fire is desired. Because human fatigue reduces an amount of time that a high rate of fire can be sustained, or physiological impairments may interfere with a users ability to operate the trigger effectively, there are ongoing efforts to improve firearm design. The embodiments disclosed herein seek to improve trigger operation by assisting in improving reset of the trigger for individuals with or without physiological impairments.

1. An apparatus to assist in resetting a trigger, the apparatus comprising:
a trigger; a bolt carrier group to apply a force; and a torsion spring comprising upper arms and lower arms, the lower arms being mechanically bridged together, the torsion spring to translate the applied force from the bolt carrier group to the trigger to assist in trigger reset.
