<p>A surgical stapling apparatus includes a handle (20), an elongated body (30), a firing assembly (300) and a replaceable stapling assembly (100). The elongated body (30) has an engagement member (36) at a distal end thereof that defines first threading (37). The firing assembly (300) includes a trigger (24) and a link (310) that is configured for distal translation in response to actuation of the trigger (24) and includes a distal head (340) defining second threading (342). The replaceable stapling assembly (100) housing a plurality of staples (600) includes an outer shell (142) and a pusher (112) disposed within the outer shell (142). The outer shell (142) defines third threading (149a) and the pusher (112) defines fourth threading (123a). The first threading (37) and the third threading (149a) are releasably engagable to releasably secure the stapling assembly (100) to the elongated body (30), and the second threading (342) and the fourth threading (123a) are releasbly engagable to operably couple the pusher (112) and the link (310) such that, in response to distal advancement of the firing link (310), the pusher (112) is advanced through the stapling assembly (100) to eject the plurality of staples (600) therefrom.</p> |
