PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alarm capable of improving the convenience in communicating with a predetermined institution, and to provide a control method of the alarm.SOLUTION: The alarm 1 includes: a determination unit 11a for determining whether it is an output timing of a voice message; a storage unit 11b storing information of the output voice message; and a voice output unit 12 for outputting the voice message stored in the storage unit 11b when the determination unit 11a determines that it is the output timing of the voice message. The storage unit 11b stores the information of the output voice message together with communication information used for communicating with a predetermined institution. The voice output unit 12 outputs the voice message including the communication information.
