The invention relates to a perfumed aqueous viscous personal cleansing composition free of sulfate-containing and PEG-containing surfactants and essentially formed of a surfactant system based on a specific combination of anionic and non-ionic natural substances, an electrolyte, a perfume oil and water. The components are specifically selected and used in defined concentrations where high viscosities can be achieved without the addition of polymeric thickeners. Upon application, the body cleansing compositions such as shower gels, liquid hand soaps and shampoos, provide a surprising fragrance "blooming" effect.
