PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a nonaqueous electrolyte capable of reducing a decrease of battery capacity, capable of extending battery life, capable of suppressing an increase of internal resistance, and having no deterioration in performance even at high charge/discharge rate; and a lithium secondary battery including the nonaqueous electrolyte.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte includes a nonaqueous solvent and a support electrolyte including a lithium-containing salt. The nonaqueous solvent includes a main component (a) and an additional component (b). The main component (a) is a mixture of a cyclic aprotic solvent and a chain aprotic solvent. The additional component (b) is alcohol having one hydroxyl group in a molecule and a carbon number of 3 or more. The content of the additional component (b) is 5×10-0.010 [OH] group number/kg nonaqueous electrolyte. |
