<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which is capable of saving power by reducing the amount of heat radiated from the surface of a fixing belt and to provide an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A fixing device 12 includes an endless fixing belt 38 rotatably provided, a contact member 30 rotatably provided and brought into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the fixing belt, to form a nip part SN between the contact member 30 and the fixing belt, and heating means 56 provided in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the fixing belt and heating the fixing belt. The heating means includes a plurality of heat sources 55 in the width direction of a recording material orthogonal to the conveyance direction of the recording material, and changes a heating region by each heat source, to heat the fixing belt, according to an unfixed image on the recording material, based on image data, so that the unfixed image on the recording material passed through the nip part is fixed to the recording material by at least the heat. In the fixing device 12, the heating means is provided in a part excluding the part of the fixing belt forming the nip part.</p> |
