This content presentation method involves: a history collection step for collecting the viewing history of a user; a determination step for analyzing the viewing history and determining the active time interval in which an output unit is in a state for being viewed; a data collection step for collecting metadata added to the viewed content; an analysis step for analyzing the metadata and extracting words indicating the content; a profile generation step for generating a user profile for each active time interval on the basis of the extracted words corresponding to the content viewed in the target active time interval; a calculation step for calculating the predicted viewing time, which is the length from the current time to the time when the active time interval will finish; and a playlist generation step for selecting content on the basis of the generated user profile corresponding to the active time interval and generating a playlist prescribing the playback order of the selected content so as to conform to the predicted viewing time.
