The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, alleviating or treating bone diseases, wherein, the composition uses a Peucedani japonici radix extract as an active ingredient to inhibit osteoclast differentiation, and c-Fos and NFATc1 expression to thereby prevent, alleviate, or treat bone diseases including osteoporosis. According to the present invention, the composition containing a Peucedani japonici radix extract as an active ingredient for preventing, alleviating, or treating bone diseases is extracted from a natural substance thereby having an effect of inhibiting osteoclast differentiation without side effects. Also, there is an effect of strongly inhibiting c-Fos and NFATc1 expression which are major mechanisms of osteoclast differentiation. Moreover, there are effects of inhibiting an activation of MAPK pathway including ERK, JNK, p38, and expression of osteoclast inducing factor including TRAP, OSCAR, cathepsin K, DC-STAMP which are activated by M-CSF and RANKL. |
