<p>This application is concerned with reducing interference caused to a receiver due to passive intermoduation (PIM) and/or passive harmonic (PH) products. In an embodiment a received waveform 10 is affected by interference I3 resulting from non-linear products of components of a first transmit signal C1 and a components of a second transmit signal C2 (see Fig. 1). More generally the non-linear products could be produced from a single signal. A plurality of interference product streams (46a, 46b) are generated, each stream comprising a stream of time samples of a simulated non-linear product of components of the signal (or signals) which contribute to the interference. At least two of the plurality of interference product streams are processed to reduce a degree of correlation between the streams. The processing may involve an orthogonalization step. The resulting processed interference product streams (60a, 60b) are correlated 56 with the received waveform 10 to produce a plurality of respective correlation values. The interference I3 may be subtracted 54 from the received waveform 10 using the correlation values. The correlation values may be used to weight 48 the processed interference product streams.</p> |
