An electronically controlled brake booster according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a motor for transmitting power to generate brake pressure; a motor position sensor for detecting the position of the motor; a cylinder pressure sensor for detecting the pressure generated in a cylinder by the motor; and a control unit for advancing a spindle of the motor until the pressure of the cylinder becomes standard pressure, if the pressure of the cylinder is zero, calculating the advanced distance of the spindle, and setting the position of the spindle when the spindle is reversed by the calculated distance until a threshold value of a zero-pressure maintaining range, as an initial position of the spindle. Since the initial position of the spindle of the motor can be corrected by the use of the motor position sensor and the cylinder pressure sensor, without using additional sensors, it is possible to reduce production costs. Also, it is possible to control fine pressure depending upon the resolution of an absolute steering angle sensor of the motor. |
