PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing a Dipterocarpus obtusifolius Teijsm. Ex Miq. extract for preventing or treating inflammatory diseases or allergic diseases is provided to NO and PGE2 generation and to suppress iNOS and COX-2 expression. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating inflammatory diseases contains a Dipterocarpus obtusifolius Teijsm. Ex Miq. extract as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared using water, low carbon number alcohol of C1-C2, or a mixture thereof. A health functional food for preventing and treating inflammatory diseases contains the extract as an active ingredient. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating allergic diseases contains the extract as an active ingredient. A food for preventing and treating allergic diseases contains the extract as an active ingredient. |
