The method involves connecting telecommunication terminal (20) to base station (11). An interface connection (120) is provided between base station, telecommunication terminal, and mobile switching center (12). A data link is established between telecommunication terminal and general packet radio system (GPRS) packet data switching center (14), during which mobile terminated call paging is carried out in telecommunication terminal. An implementation of dual transfer mode (DTM) is enabled in telecommunication terminal via interface connection.
