The precooler has an exhaust gas passage (10) formed in a two-piece pre-cooler housing (2) extended from an exhaust gas inlet to an exhaust gas outlet (40). A flow cross section is controlled by a valve e.g. flap valve, arranged in the housing. A pivot shaft (14) of the valve is supported in the pre-cooler housing. Coolant channels for the pivot shaft extend to opposite sides of the pivot shaft parallel to a flange (42). The exhaust gas inlet is arranged in another flange (4) of the housing. The channels are interconnected in the latter flange over pipe lines (60). |
