Disclosed are a method and device for measuring the amount of exercise, and fitness equipment using the same. The disclosed method for measuring the amount of exercise includes a step of obtaining acceleration measurement value from an acceleration sensor located on the fitness equipment; a step of determining an exercise section based on the measurement value; a step of determining a predetermined threshold range in the exercise section; and a step of calculating the number of exercises based on the number of measurement value out of the threshold range within the exercise section. Therefore, the amount of exercise can be measured accurately without the inconvenience of carrying the sensor.
