PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly determine degradation in detection performance. SOLUTION: An object detection ECU 11 includes: a first detection part 111 for detecting an object in a first area R1 set in front of a vehicle via a millimeter-wave radar 21; a second detection part 112 for detecting an object in a second area R2 including at least a partial area of the first area R1 in front of the vehicle via CCD cameras 22 and 23; a detection determining part 113 for determining whether or not at least one object is detected by the detection part 112, the one object being included in a third area R3 which is an area included in both the first and second areas R1 and R2; and a performance determining part 115 for determining that the detection performance of the radar 21 or that of the detection part 111 is degraded in cases where it is determined that at least one object is detected and in cases where at least one object is not detected by the detection part 111 among the objects in the third area detected by the detection part 112.
