发明名称 Solutions aqueuses acides de chlorites
摘要 A method of repressing the generation and evolution of chlorine dioxide in an acid aqueous solution of an alkali or alkaline earth metal chlorite comprises adding hydrogen peroxide to the chlorite solution in such amount that the proportion of hydrogen peroxide to chlorite expressed respectively as 100 volume hydrogen peroxide and as available chlorine, does not exceed 4 : 1. Instead of hydrogen peroxide, compounds, e.g., sodium perborate and sodium percarbonate, capable of yielding hydrogen peroxide in the environment of the solution, may be used. The solutions may be used in the souring and bleaching steps in laundry operations and in the bleaching of sponges, oils, fats and waxes. Specification 561,475, [Group IV], is referred to.ALSO:For the bleaching, or other treatment requiring an oxidising agent, of cellulosic materials such as cotton, linen, paper-pulp, straw, rayon, cellulose acetate, other cellulose esters and ethers including mixed types, e.g. cellulose acetate-butyrate, animal fibres, e.g. wool and silk, and synthetic protein-like fibres. e.g. nylon and aralac, aqueous acid solutions of alkali or alkaline earth-metal chlorites are employed in which the generation and evolution of chlorine dioxide is repressed by adding hydrogen peroxide thereto in such amount that the proportion of hydrogen peroxide to chlorite expressed respectively as 100 volume hydrogen peroxide and as available chlorine does not exceed 4 : 1. Instead of hydrogen peroxide compounds, e.g. sodium perborate and sodium percarbonate, capable of yielding hydrogen peroxide in the environment of the solution may be used. Quantitative examples are given in which the solutions are applied to the treatment of gray cotton muslin and air dried pulp, the solution used for treating the former material also contains the sodium salt of a fatty acid alcohol as a detergent. Specification 561,475 is referred to.ALSO:In the bleaching and solubilizing of starch an aqueous acid solution of an alkali or alkaline earth metal chlorite is employed in which the generation and evolution of chlorine dioxide is repressed by adding hydrogen peroxide thereto in such amount that the proportion of hydrogen peroxide to chlorite expressed respectively as 100 volume hydrogen peroxide and as available chlorine does not exceed 4 : 1.
